African pompano are distributed throughout the tropical oceans and seas of the world although is more often found in coastal waters. The species has been recorded from both the east and west coasts of the US, South America and Africa, throughout the Indian Ocean and along Asia and Australia, as well as many islands in the Pacific.*

The transparent hues on this fish allows the long grain of the wood to show through strengthening that impression of movement. Each piece in this series has the same body but not the same delineation of color. Each piece is totally unique. The body is soft maple, a sustainable hardwood harvested in the USA. The transparent colors are blended in a resin that is totally VOC free. All the necessary hardware to hang this piece is included.
